- To sit an exam in May, students must register with the CIOT by the last day of December.
- To sit an exam in November, students must register with the CIOT by the last day of June.
Students must be registered with the CIOT at least four months before they sit their first exam.
Please note students must enrol for exams separately. They can enrol for the Professional Responsibilities and Ethics exam any time after they’ve been accepted as a CIOT student. This exam can be sat remotely (with a remote proctor supervising the exam online) or in a test centre. More details can be found on the CIOT website.
CTA exam policies are set by CIOT and should be confirmed with them, which includes all requests for reasonable adjustments.
Important: Registrations for the existing CA CTA Joint Programme will close after 31 December 2025. You’ll then have until the May 2026 exam session to sit your Advanced Technical specialist paper. To sit exams in May, you’ll need to be registered by February 2026. If you have not sat your first CTA paper under this existing Joint Programme by May 2026, you will be transferred to the new CA CTA Joint Programme.
