ICAS operates a ‘fit to sit’ policy whereby by sitting the assessment you are determined to be declaring yourself both mentally and physically capable of sitting the assessment.
Any events which occurred prior to the assessment, e.g., illness of any kind, a bereavement at any time, therefore, do not meet the policy and will not be considered by the Special Considerations and Extenuating Circumstances Panel as part of the ratification process.
In circumstances where you are unwell, or a bereavement or other event out with your control occurs before the assessment, you have the option to withdraw from the assessment before it begins. This should only be done in consultation with your firm.
